If you live in the Isanti County area, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day could be pretty busy for you. There are a slew of events being hosted at the Isanti Civic Arena and the local VFW to keep area residents with things to do.
For New Year’s Eve, the Isanti Civic Arena is hosting a free family potluck, so bring a dish to share with others. The Isanti Civic Arena is a skating rink that plays host to many hockey practices and games, but on December 31st, the rink will be vacant for open skating for families. On New Year’s Day the local VFW is hosting a Chili Cook Off from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. For more information, contact (763) 444-9787.
Also on New Year’s Day is the annual ATV/Snowmobile Parade that kicks off at 3:00 p.m. The parade route is yet to be determined by the local police, but if you have a snowmobile or ATV and want to participate in the parade, all are welcome, meet at the Isanti Middle School at 2:30 p.m. Whether you are participating in the parade, or just watching it, following the parade, more chili will be served at the Isanti Community Center.
